Privacy, in plain language.

Clocked needs enough information to secure and sync your account. It does not sell your data, serve ads, or track you across other companies’ apps and websites.

1. Scope and controller

This Privacy Policy explains how Clocked, operated by Nikhil Kapur, handles personal information when you use the Clocked iOS app, website, and support experience. “Clocked,” “we,” and “us” refer to the app and its developer.

2. Information we handle

Account information

When you sign in, we receive an account identifier from Apple and, depending on your choices, your email address and name. Apple may provide a private relay email address instead of your personal email.

Content you choose to add

This includes item names, purchase prices, currency, dates, targets, tags, item type and recurrence details, use history, notes, archive state, and related timestamps. Item photos currently stay on the device where you add them and are not uploaded to Clocked’s backend.

Purchase status

Apple processes in-app purchases. Clocked receives entitlement and transaction information needed to unlock Clocked Unlimited, but does not receive your full payment card number.

Technical and support information

Our hosting and backend providers may process limited technical information needed to deliver and secure the service, such as IP address, request time, device or browser information, and security logs. If you contact support, we process the information you include in the request.

Information we do not seek

Clocked does not connect to your bank, read card transactions, serve behavioral advertising, buy data about you, or track your activity across other companies’ apps and websites. Please do not enter sensitive personal information in free-text item names, tags, or notes.

3. How we use information

  • Provide account access, backup, synchronization, offline reconciliation, and app features.
  • Calculate and display cost per use, progress, recaps, and comparisons you request.
  • Process and restore purchase entitlements.
  • Protect accounts, prevent abuse, diagnose failures, and maintain service reliability.
  • Respond to support, privacy, and legal requests.
  • Comply with law and enforce our Terms of Use.

We do not use your item or use history for third-party advertising. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

4. Service providers and disclosures

Clocked uses service providers only as needed to operate the product:

  • Supabase provides authentication, database, and related backend infrastructure.
  • Apple provides Sign in with Apple, App Store distribution, StoreKit purchases, and device platform services.
  • Vercel hosts Clocked’s public website and legal pages.

These providers process information under their own terms and privacy commitments. Information may also be disclosed when required by valid legal process, to protect rights or safety, or as part of a business transfer subject to appropriate safeguards. We do not disclose personal information merely because a private party asks for it.

5. Legal bases and international processing

Where law requires a legal basis, we process information to perform our contract with you by providing Clocked, for legitimate interests such as security and reliability, with consent where requested, and to meet legal obligations. Providers may process information in the United States and other countries where they operate. Those countries may have different data-protection laws.

6. Retention and security

We keep account and synced content while your account is active and as needed to provide the service. When you delete your account, active account data is scheduled for deletion, subject to limited retention where reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, backups, or legal obligations. Backup copies may persist temporarily until overwritten through ordinary system operation.

Clocked uses access controls, row-level authorization, encrypted network transport, and provider security measures designed to protect information. No storage or transmission method is guaranteed to be completely secure.

7. Your choices and rights

You can review and change much of your content in the app. You can delete individual items and uses, export available data, sign out, or delete your account from Settings. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or objection, and to appeal or complain to a data-protection authority.

Revoking Apple authorization does not by itself delete the Clocked account. Use the in-app Delete Account control or contact support. Deleting the app from a device also does not by itself delete server data.

8. United States state privacy disclosures

Clocked does not sell personal information, share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, or use it for targeted advertising. We do not knowingly use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes that require a right to limit under applicable United States state privacy laws. We do not discriminate against anyone for exercising an applicable privacy right.

9. Children

Clocked is not directed to children under 13, or the minimum age required in their country to consent to online services. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children below that age. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information.

10. Changes

We may update this policy as the product or law changes. The current version will remain posted here with its effective date. If a change materially affects how we use personal information, we will provide notice appropriate to the change.

11. Contact

For privacy questions or rights requests, email appsbykap@gmail.com or visit Clocked Support. We may need to verify your request before acting on it.
